This is another test blog entry to deal with my blog displaying real names rather than display names. It turns out the problem is replicated on this blog.
XPress 2.02 defaults to showing xoops ‘realname’ instead of ‘displayname’ or ‘username.’ It should default to show xoops ‘displayname.’ You can see that this is the case on this blog by checking my profile or trying it yourself.
This problem was not present in xpress 1.5.

As we have already explained, XPress uses XOOPS’ own membership management, which means any set or configuration in WordPress preferences won’t take action.
If it is REALLY prefered to use wordpress’ user configuration, I could make some hack-like options

it’s fine that the wordpress options don’t work, but that doesn’t address that this version of xpress is not following the xoops display preferences.
this version is showing real names regardless of what is set in xoops as display name. test it by placing a real name that is different than your display name or login. it will show the real name.

or, look at my xoops profile on this site in comparison to my posts. . .
username: todd
diplayname: hotdogblog
real name: toddherrold
Xpress defaults to showing real name for blog entries, if available, which is NOT what it should do. It should default to showing display name, and then username, and NEVER real name. Instead, this version defaults to real name, then displayname if real name is not available. This is backwards.

todd, sorry for not responding for a long time.
in wordpress 2.02 only username and realname are covered.
If any more problems, I am leaving to next release.
